About Our Fence System

The Life-Guard Pool Fence is a fully removable, modular fence system that can be installed around most pools and into a variety of surfaces. These surfaces include brick, concrete, tile and stone. Fence panels are 1.2m high and are made up in standard 5m sections using a special imported PVC coated polyester mesh that is attached to aluminium poles. Custom sizes and lengths can also be easily manufactured.

The tension based system utilizes a series of fence sections that fit into holes that have been core-drilled into the pool deck. Each hole is sleeved with a PVC sleeve, and each fence section is connected at the top with a brass, spring-loaded safety hook. This provides a rigid, secure, yet unobtrusive barrier around the pool area

The Mesh

Fences are constructed with an imported PVC mesh fabric that is specially manufactured in the USA for the pool fence industry. The mesh is both UV and mildew resistant to provide years of use in the harshest outdoor conditions. It’s high tensile strength rating makes it  impossible to rip under normal conditions. Each fence panel is bordered by a rip-proof vinyl binding, that keeps the fence from sagging and helps maintain the necessary tension along the top and bottom of the fence. The border binding is stitched onto the mesh with the strongest UV protected polyester thread to allow for years of outdoor use. The mesh is securely mounted to construction-grade aluminium poles using a specially moulded aluminium strip and rust-proof stainless steel screws.

The mesh is available in the following colours: black, white, or green.

The Poles

Poles are constructed of thick-walled (1.65mm) construction-grade aluminium and are powder coated to match the colour of the mesh. Poles are also further reinforced at critical points with a steel sleeve inserted inside the pole. Pole spacing is at a standard 1m. Stainless steel screws are utilized for securely attaching the aluminium cove moulding to the poles and mesh. All poles are capped to provide a neat finished appearance. As far as possible we use standard 5m sections making it easy for the customer to remove and reinstall the fence, however custom sections are made up where necessary. A standard section weighs only 8.0 kg.

Installation

Only correct installation techniques will ensure a fence that has the correct tension, and that it fits properly around your pool. Our installation technicians use a core-drilling machine with diamond tipped bits to cut a precision 32mm hole in the pool deck. Once drilling is complete, a PVC sleeve is countersunk into the hole. This sleeve provides a snug fit for the poles, allowing for many insertions and removals.

Gate Options

The most popular gate option is simply located where two sections meet, usually in front for the pool steps. The poles are unclipped, removed from the holes and the panel is folded back to reveal either a 1m or 2m entrance to the pool. The poles are placed in conveniently positioned lay-back holes.

Self-closing Gate

We also manufacture and supply a framed, self closing gate as an optional accessory. Click here for more information.
